So, the band that to me represents the worst trend in Bluegrass music today, sweeps the awards. To me Dailey & Vincent manufacture perfect music with no heart. Every note, every harmony every aspect is so calculated and tuned that it is sterile, emotionless. I’m not one of those “it has to sound like Bill” people, I just want to hear it sung with the heart and emotion of someone who really feels the music and lyrics.

Being in the Bluegrass business, I’ve heard all of Dailey & Vincent’s recordings and seen them live several times. They give the impression that it’s purely a business venture for them, and they manufacture, not play, the music.

Who cares?
