Festival Information - Pickin' in Parsons

As we begin our unrelenting march towards Spring (you have noticed the days getting longer, haven't you,) from time to time I will be posting information about festivals I attend and recommend.

Today I will be highlighting Pickin' in Parsons, held at the Five Rivers Campground, in Parsons West Virginia. The festival promoters and campground operators are John and Joyce Bowers. They have made constant improvements in the years I have been attending, and are dedicated to making your festival and camping experience the best it can be.

This year's event will be July 30, 31, and August 1, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, a change from previous years. Another change from the past, they can no longer provide a guaranteed full hookup site, from year to year, this is due to increased campground use by long term and business clients. The Bower's however are planing to add electric service to the field area of the festival grounds that was no hook camping last year. If you feel you require a full hookup site, contact them for availability, policy and procedures.

Scheduled to appear this year, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, The Lewis Family, Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice, Audie Blaylock and Red Line, Randy Waller and the Country Gentlemen, and others. Click here for full lineup.

The campground is recommended for vacation use, this is a beautiful area, great for Spring, Summer or Fall. The modest rates for full hookup camping include, electric, water, sewerage, cable and wi-fi.
