Spring Creek flows to new success

Spring Creek’s 2007 wins of the Telluride Bluegrass and RockyGrass festivals will remain a wellspring of pride for the band. But success for Spring Creek since then has swelled.
Most notably, the band late last year signed to the 50-year-old Virginia-based Rebel Records, thereby joining Ralph Stanley and other bluegrass luminaries on the Rebel roster. The label had never before signed a band from west of the Mississippi River.
The fruit of this partnership is “Way Up on a Mountain,” the band’s first album on Rebel. It’s scheduled for release May 5, and the band will celebrate with a show on the evening of May 9 at the Boulder Theater. Read more.
