Lonesome Day Records Adds to Roster and Staff




Nashville, TN (Tuesday-September 1, 2009) Boasting an extremely impressive nine year history, the one time Kentucky based Bluegrass label, Lonesome Day Records, is branching out, making additions to the roster and staff, as well as expanding their genre and their market share.

Randall Deaton, President and Owner of Lonesome Day Records started the label in 2002 and released the first recordings in 2004. A musician, recording engineer and producer, Deaton was armed with the passion for music at a very early age, playing in bands throughout high school and college. He earned a degree in Business and a minor in Political Science, while wielding a guitar and mandolin. Deaton’s key label staff includes, Jason Hernandez and Jami Anderson. With a degree in Business Administration and Communication, Hernandez serves as Operations Manager. Hernandez is also savvy in video production and owns his own video production company, March Media, aside from his responsibilities with Lonesome Day Records. Anderson is an award winning and Grammy nominated graphic artist, who also specializes in web design and music marketing through her venture, JamiDesign. She oversees all aspects of the label’s packaging, advertising, web sites, online fan clubs and promotional marketing pieces.

Lonesome Day Records has a steadfast solid roster already in place, which includes artists; Ralph Stanley II (whose father is bluegrass icon Ralph Stanley) Blue Moon Rising (award-winning Bluegrass favorites), Larry Cordle (singer/songwriter “Murder on Music Row” among other hits), Fred Eaglesmith (Award winning Americana/Roots Music singer/songwriter likened to Woody Guthrie and Bruce Springsteen) and catalogue artists such as; Steve Gulley (Bluegrass favorite and one of the founders of Mountain Heart), Randy Kohrs (Grammy award winning instrumentalist, vocalist and producer), Jeff Parker (member of the Lonesome River Band and an award winning solo artist), Lou Reid and Carolina (founding member of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, played in Ricky Skaggs’ band and also serves as lead guitarist in award-winning group Longview) and Darrell Webb (Bluegrass music favorite who toured with Lonesome River Band and J.D. Crowe. Founding member of Wildfire.)

Lonesome Day Records newest signing include Boston, MA based Girls, Guns and Glory, winners of the “Outstanding Americana Act of the Year” 2007 Boston Music Awards, Top 15 Local Albums of the Year 2007 from The Boston Globe and other accolades. Girls, Guns and Glory will reissue their latest on the Lonesome Day Label later this year.

Lonesome Day Records has also added to their executive business team. Industry veteran, Bob Morrison of Chart Noise will advise the record label as General Manager and Consultant. “Bob’s experience in Sales and Marketing as well as Business Operations make him a great asset to our company,” Says Randall Deaton, President and Owner, Lonesome Day Records. “I am very excited to be a part of the Lonesome Day family, the strength of the music and the vision of the label is remarkable,” states Morrison.

In addition to Morrison, Lonesome Day has added Alexis Kelly of LiveWire Entertainment, who will oversee Sales and Marketing, as a consultant. Kelly is an industry veteran. Before starting her own company 11 years ago, she served stints at major labels including, Capitol, RCA and Mercury Nashville.

Vanessa Parker-Davis, Splash! Public Relations, will oversee Publicity and consult with Artist Development. Having been the head of media departments for Arista Nashville, Atlantic Records and Capitol Records, Parker-Davis also served on artist development teams for those respective labels before starting Splash! Public Relations in 2003

Lonesome Day Records has just completed an agreement with E1 Entertainment Distribution (formerly Koch Entertainment) through Cooking Vinyl Records, to distribute their product worldwide. Michael Rosenberg, President of E1 Entertainment Distribution U.S. says, “We look forward to working with Lonesome Day Records as it expands its diverse roster of artists while maintaining its catalog favorites.”
