Nashville, TN (March 25, 2011 ) -- Grammy-nominated bluegrass band The Grascals pay tribute to one of America's most-beloved television programs, The Andy Griffith Show, with the release their newest disc, DANCE 'TIL YOUR STOCKINGS ARE HOT AND RAVELIN' (A Tribute To The Music of the Andy Griffith Show). Available digitally via BluGrascal Records/Saguaro Road Records on March 29 and via CD on June 7, the seven-song EP features tunes that were an integral and humorous part of the show's eight-year run. The disc's release coincides with The Andy Griffith Show's celebration of its 50th anniversary. DANCE includes one original song written and recorded in the spirit of the sweetly-comical series, "Boy, Giraffes Are Selfish," alongside iconic tracks such as "Dooley," "Boil Them Cabbage Down," "Stay All Night (Stay A Little Longer)," "Ol' Joe Clark," "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" and "Mayberry's Finest Theme." THE GRASCALS' guitarist, Terry Eldredge, is a longtime fan of the show and confesses to have seen each episode numerous times. "The Andy Griffith Show had a moral lesson that every human being should live by," Eldredge comments. "It's an honor and privilege to be associated with the best TV show ever made. It was - and still is - awesome family entertainment." "The Andy Griffith show, The Grascals, and Bluegrass music is a quintessential American combination and The Grascals have given us another great listen," says Saguaro Road / Time Life Senior VP Retail Mike Jason. The Grascals launched their career in 2004, and have become one of the most-lauded Bluegrass bands of their era. Accolades abound and include: SPBGMA's 2011 Instrumental Group of the Year, SPBGMA's 2010 Bluegrass Band of the Year, SPBGMA's 2009 Album of the Year and IBMA's (2007, 2006) Entertainer of the Year. The band's unique sound has also earned two of their previous releases (THE GRASCALS and LONG LIST OF HEARTACHES) Grammy® nominations in 2005 and 2006, respectively. .Fans can catch up with THE GRASCALS at http://grascals.com |
