Rural Rhythm Signs Tommy Webb

HEARTLAND – A New CD by Tommy Webb Set for April Release

Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce the upcoming April 21, 2009 release of the new album by TOMMY WEBB titled, “HEARTLAND.” Tommy is from Langley, Kentucky located in Floyd County near the well-known Highway Route 23 that so many award-winning Country and Bluegrass music artists have originated. His voice has a genuine Big Country & Rootsy Bluegrass quality brand that is unmistakably his own - Simply put, he sounds like Tommy Webb!

Ron Stewart produced the album and recently commented, "Tommy Webb is one of those rare ‘Down to Earth, No Sugar Coating’ talents that only comes along once in a grand while that grabs you and makes you listen. This is the third CD of Tommy's that I have been a part of, and from that first time I hit the record button and heard him sing, I knew that I, along with the rest of the bluegrass and acoustic music world, would be hearing a lot more from this guy, and hopefully I would be involved!"

The upcoming album includes 12 songs, several written by Tommy Webb, and also includes two strong songs, re-mixed and re-mastered, from his previous two albums: the hit "If It Weren't For Bluegrass Music (I'd Go Crazy)” that reached #4 on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Singles Chart and “A Hard Row to Hoe.” Rural Rhythm just released two new tracks last month on the Rural Rhythm Fresh Cuts & Key Tracks #4 radio compilation CD: “Teardrop Inn” and “Heartland.”

"Teardrop Inn,” written by Mike Wells, is an emotionally-packed love story tragically gone wrong, filled with all the familiar cheating on the other side of town lyrics that speak to the hurtful emotion and fiery passion of a woman scorned. The harmonies are truly haunting and capture the direct and raw emotion of the woman’s last words to her gentlemen lover who’s done her wrong.“Heartland” was written by Tommy Webb and Sam Passamano, Jr. (President of Rural Rhythm Records). “This is a very timely song considering the tough economic times throughout America and all over the world. It’s a time when our world leaders need to take charge, work together, find solutions, get results and not let party lines or world politics get in the way of turning this economy around,” said Passamano. “Tommy's song ‘Heartland’ reaches the heart and soul of the everyday working man and woman and their plight enduring through these hard times, just trying to survive.

Tommy Webb lives in the heartland, in both body and spirit, and writes passionate songs about life in the heartland. His new album clearly defines the Tommy Webb sound and will surely turn a lot more heads as they discover his unique and refreshing “salt of the earth” vocal style and songwriting talents.

Musicians on the album include: Tommy Webb (lead vocals, guitar, clawhammer banjo); Chris Goble (banjo, harmony vocals); Kenny O’Quinn (mandolin, harmony vocals); Danny Stiltner (bass, harmony vocals); Ron Stewart (fiddle, mandolin, resonator guitar, bass, harmony vocals); and Sherri Stewart (harmony vocals). For more information on Tommy Webb, please visit http://www.thetommywebbband.com/ or http://www.ruralrhythm.com/
