Tim Custer, one of “the Custer Clan” who host the Coleman Station Bluegrass Festival in Friedens, introduces The Blue Shades, the second band to perform Friday night. The Blue Shades feature Vince Bartlebaugh, whom Custer acknowledges as not only a major influence on his own banjo playing, but also as “one of the greatest influences on pickers in the seven-state area.” The festival continues today.
