The long running Smmmersville West Virginia Bluegrass festival, "Music in the Mountains," will continue. Adams and Anderson Productions (A & A), who produce major festivals throughout the southeast, will operate the event beginning in 2009.
The festival was founded by Edgar and Eunice Kitchen almost 30 years ago. Under their direction it grew to the largest Bluegrass festival in the Mid Atlantic region.
The group that operated the park for the last two years had announced that they would not continue after 2008. It was believed by many to be the end of "Music in the Mountains." However, the Kitchens contacted Norman Adams of A & A, and he agreed to operate the festival at least for the next two years.
There is one major change, the dates for 2009 are June 24, 25, 26, & 27 -WEDNESDAY THRU SATURDAY.
