Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival - 2009


The seventh annual "Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival" line up has been finalized. This year the festival will be Friday June 19 and Saturday June 20 , on the beautiful grounds of The Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Company, station 44, near Ligonier Pa.

Scheduled to perform are two great national acts, Bill Emerson and Sweet Dixie (S), and Special Consensus (S). There will be two outstanding regional bands, Northwest Territory (F) and The Bluegrass Mountaineers (F & S).

The traveling bands will be complimented by some of Western Pennsylvania's finest acts, Mac,Martin and the Dixie Travelers (S), The Allegheny Drifters (S), Blue Shades, (S), and Poverty Hollow (F).

As always the festival will include some fine workshops on Saturday. Bill Emerson and Tom Adams will join in presenting the banjo workshop and Poverty Hollow will be this year's lead vocal and vocal harmony presenters.

More details will be released soon. Band profiles will be posted to the web site, and also on this blog.
UPDATE: Most of the band bio information has now be added to the festival web site, including New Generation, who will be making a special appearance on Thursday after the annual Fish Fry.
